YASP (Yet Another Synth Project) Part 2
Well the front Panel PCB arrived, it’s also the same size as the others, 45mm by 65mm but has 10 switches, MIDI in, autio out, USB-C PD power, 1.44″ TFT display, lots of LEDs and a joystick thing.

Top to Bottom;
- Panel Board (display, buttons, power, midi and audio)
- quad VCF (SSI2144) and VCA board
- Another quad VCF (SSI2144) and VCA board (giving 8 voices in total)
- Processor board (patch storage via SD, midi handling, screen handling, etc)
- FPGA board from Alchitry
I’ve included two 1/4″ audio jacks for scale (I ran out of Bananas). It’s not yet fully assembled, I’m waiting on the switches to arrive, but they’re due in the next couple of days. From there it will be software development time.
It all powers just fine from the USBC connector, and will auto negotiate the best power from any USB-C PD capable supply, though I’ve limited it to 10W. I honestly don’t think it will draw even 5W.
I’ve been designing little switch caps and joystick knobs and I plan to 3D print them and test them when the switches arrive.
Again, this isn’t going to be a product, this just a portable little dev rig for myself.
